Founds some old Stories

I was looking through my baby book and in the box where the baby book was I found a folder and when me and my mom went through it we found some of my old stories I had written. I discovered I had been writing stories a lot longer than I thought I had. I found some stories I don't even remember writing but I dated them and they had my name on them. They were pretty interesting imaginative stories but of course my grammar at the time was atrocious. It took some deciphering to figure out a few of the stories. I thought it was cool and I enjoyed re-reading them.

Safe Haven by Hannah Alexander

A few days ago I finished reading Safe Haven by Hannah Alexander. It is the second in the Hideaway Series. I have been trying to make a dent in the books I haven't read that I have on my shelf. This was a book my parents gave me four years ago and I just now got around to reading it. It was really good and I liked that it was hard to figure out the mystery until the end. So you were wondering along with the characters and discovering things out along with them.

Book Details: A teenage fugitive - youthful master of disguise Fawn Morrison comes to charming Hideaway, Missouri, seeking refuge. Now that her dangerous game has turned deadly, she must entrust her safety to strangers.

A doubting doctor - Karah Lee Fletcher relishes the challenges offered by Hideaway's new clinic, until an unsettling discovery shakes her confidence. Despite her self-doubt, Karah Lee reaches out to Fawn, jeopardizing her own life. . .and finds unexpected grace.

A lonely ranger - their first meeting leaves Ranger Taylor Jackson vowing to avoid strong-willed Karah Lee. Yet observing her interact with patients, especially the vulnerable Fawn, Taylor begins to feel admiration. Could it lead to something deeper?

Hannah Alexander is the pen name of husband-wife writing team Dr. Mel and Cheryl Hodde, who make their home in a homey Ozarks setting like those featured in their novels, which include the Hideaway series.

Basset Hound Dogs being neglected in my Neighborhood

Last night we saw two Basset Hounds in our neighborhood eating out of peoples garbage. The male was of a good weight but the female she was skin and bones. Her skin was hanging and you could see and feel her ribs and bones. She is also a mother with a litter of small pups. It was so sad to see. She was such sweet dog. We thought she was abandoned but we followed her and she kept taking us to the same house. Then she started whining at the front door and then wagging her tail trying to tell us it was her house. Her pups were in the garage crying. The owners were gone and the dogs were eating out of there garbage too. We found out the people were in a neighboring state and wouldn't be back till the next day.

They had the dogs put in the back yard by the neighbor and the pups were left in the garage with no mother dog or food or water. They said the pups were weened but I think they were lying.

The female dog like I said was in a bad shape. If people can't take care of there dogs they need to find a good home for them. These people had like 5-7 dogs plus 7 pups. It's despicable they let that dog be so malnourished like that. I didn't see any other dogs except the male and female basset hounds but I only hope they don't treat there other dogs like that female dog. My mom contacted animal control and they will be out here tomorrow.

It sickens me when people do this stuff to there animals. It just broke my heart every time she whined and howled outside the garage trying to get to her pups. And it also broke my heart when I saw her looking for food. Fortunately two neighbors gave them food and then my mom and another woman up the street from us fed her too.

Come this morning a woman of our neighborhoods Home Owners Association that helped us last night went down to the house to check on the dogs. They were out of the yard again getting into garbage. But the owners sent someone to get the dogs and then came home to take care of the other dogs and pups. I think they did that because they knew animal control would be around. I hope they don't neglect there dogs after animal control comes and goes.

People Treat your Animals Better! Please!

This is where I want to be!!!

Wishing I was anywhere but here!!!!!

I wish I was any where but this town and this house. I want so badly to be anywhere else. I am just so tired of living in my parents house. I am tired of not having a job or income. I just want to be somewhere else.

I want to be on a far away beach. I want to be there and unreachable by phone or email. I want to be away from annoying people and I want just some peace and quite.

Paths of Glory by Jeffrey Archer

I finished reading last night Paths of Glory by Jeffrey Archer. The last few pages had me crying so hard I could barely read the words on the page. To anyone who knows me they know I do not cry often and especially when reading. But there have been a few books that have effected me so much that I cried while reading them. I recommend this novel.

Book Details:

Some people have dreams that are so outrageous that if they were to achieve them, their place in history would be guaranteed. Christopher Columbus, Isaac Newton, Florence Nightingale, Thomas Edison, Nancy Astor, Charles Lindbergh, Amy Johnson, Edmund Hilary and Neil Armstrong are among such individuals. But what if one man had such a dream, and when he'd achieved it, there was no proof that he had fulfilled his ambition? "Paths of Glory", is the story of such a man. But not until you've turned the last page of this extraordinary novel, will you be able to decide if George Mallory should be added to this list of legends, because if he were, another name would have to be removed.

Money Woes!

I don't know how much I have to pay for the ER bill and I have no job. My parents are having money trouble too. My mom was saying she can't keep putting out money on this house. I can't let my parents loose our house. But I don't know what to do. I can't find a job. I have to try and help but I don't know how yet.

My visit to the ER

I had to go to the Emergency Room on Thursday. I had Blood and Pus coming out of my Belly Button *YUCK!* I was so scared but my mom was worse. She was freaking out. It was an infection and a Hernia. I have no idea how much it's going to cost cause I don't have any medical insurance and I have no job right now.

Let's hope nothing further happens!

Medical Issues and Bad Storms

I haven't posted on any of my blogs lately. I have had inflammation of my right hand from over typing. I was ordered to not type for a week. I also have a hernia so I have been quite annoyed wearing this Abdominal Binder that is supposed to help. I have to wear it for three weeks.

Last night we had a bad storm. It snapped my cedar tree in my back yard and one of my pear trees in my front yard. The tree in the back yard hit our back fence (it's being repaired). We lost electricity for three hours and it was so annoying. We had no fans and air, no t.v, no lights. The neighborhood trees were damaged by the aggressive winds. It wasn't just our trees it was a lot in the neighborhood.

Got another Follower!

On my Dashboard page it shows I have another follower but my follower thing is not working so I have no clue who it is. But thanks for following my blog and hope you enjoy.

I have had quite an unproductive summer. I did attend a religious convention and got to see my sister, brother in law and nephew. I have been extremely bored lately too, LOL. Well seeing as I have nothing much else to say I am out.

Names Are My Game

As an Author names are important. So I am adding a few unique and lovely names below.

Ranna or Rana (True Image, Beautiful, Eye-Catching, Attractive, Elegant, Means "an eye-catching object" from Arabic رنا (rana) "to gaze". Bearer of Victory) (English, Latin, and Arabic) (Rana: RAH-nah)

This name Ranna or Rana is very lovely and has an exotic flare to it. I quite like it. I heard it on a T.V show and I looked it up.

Praxis (Practical, Another name for the goddess Aphrodite.) (Ancient Greek, Greek Mythology)

I like Praxis I don't really know why. I have gotten positive and negative views on it. I think if used right it will be a good name for a character in my view.

Scotlyn (Proper) (Scottish)

This is actually the first name of my Pen Name and I love it. I think it sounds cool to say and it is just an all around nice name. It is pronounced like Scotland the country but it is a made up combo between Scott and Lynn.

Eliana (God has Answered, May also be related to the Greek "elios" meaning "god of the sun", and the name may thus mean "daughter of the sun". My God has Answered Me, The Lord has Responded, Sun, My God is Yahweh) (Hebrew, Latin) (El-ee-AH-nah, eh lee AN ah)

I read about a character named Eliana. I love the name and the meaning is really nice.

Novel Recomendations

I have read some good books lately so I have decided I will blog about them. Book Details off of Fantastic Fiction Site & Book Covers.

Rainsong- Phyllis A. Whitney Book Details: Hollis Sands has never gotten over her husband Ricky's death. She cannot believe he took his own life and wonders if it wasn't really murder. Trying to escape her memories, she seeks peace at Windtop in Cold Spring Harbor. But strange and frightening things keep happening-voices sing the song she wrote for Ricky and guitars play from nowhere. Windtop has become a trap, but Hollis Sands will not leave, until she discovers the truth, no matter how close to death that takes her....

Rainsong was really good. Even though it was from 1984 it kept me hooked and it was well written. I have recently started reading Phyllis A. Whitney and I like her work. I loved the suspenseful atmosphere of the book as well. It is on my recommends list.

Daughter of the Stars- Phyllis A. Whitney Book Details: For 30 years, Lacey Elliot's mother has refused to talk about her past. When Lacey intercepts a desperate letter from an aunt in West Virginia, she sees a chance to confront the past that has terrified her mother and to fill in the gaps of her own life.

Daughter of the Stars was another good book by Phyllis A. Whitney. I liked the history about West Virginia and the town the woman in the book went. I liked that these places really existed and weren't fictitious and the author made them real to the reader.

The Last Promise- Richard Paul Evans Book Details: They meet by chance in Tuscany, Eliana is an American painter trapped in a loveless marriage. Ross is a man seeking renewal after a terrible tragedy. Their hearts bring them together. Will their lives keep them apart?

The Last Promise was one of the best books I have read to date. It made me cry at parts and that is saying a lot. I hardly cry and this books it made me feel for the character Eliana. I actually wound up loving the name too. I am a writer and so it's another name for my list. It was a touching story and I was glad it ended well.

Danger Zone- Shirley Palmer Book Details: Maggie Cady is living the perfect life . . . It's also the perfect lie. Her husband, Sam, is her soul mate and a loving father to their child. Her four-year-old son, Jimmy, fulfills in her a lifelong desire to be a mother. And the life they have built together in New Orleans has made her happier than she ever imagined. When Jimmy is kidnapped in a violent attack on their home, Maggie realizes her past has caught up with her -- a past she has kept secret from her husband. And the only way to save her son's life is to step straight back into a world of violence and deceit, a world she once barely escaped with her life. A world her protectors called the danger zone. In an instant, everything Sam has believed is shattered. His home is attacked, his son is taken and his wife disappears, leaving behind only clues she is not who he thought she was. As he follows her tracks, barely managing to stay one step ahead of the FBI, Sam begins to understand that the woman he is chasing is a stranger. And that his son may have to pay the ultimate price for his mother's secrets.

Danger Zone was a thriller all right. It had me on the edge of my seat waiting in anticipation of what would happen next.

Not A Sparrow Falls- Linda Nichols Book Details: In this powerful story of redemption and love, a prodigal young woman from the hills of Virginia flees the men who have lured her away from a godly upbringing into a life of desperation. Taking on a new identity, Mary Bridget Washburn escapes to the bustling city of Alexandria. There her path crosses that of Alasdair MacPherson, a widowed pastor with three young children and daunting problems of his own. Mary Bridget longs to bring happiness to the deeply troubled family, but she seems an unlikely candidate to help. Has she fallen too far from grace to be able to pass it on? A heart-tugging tale about the extraordinary struggles that turn ordinary people into heroes.

Not A Sparrow Falls was a good book about how we all need a second chance. I was glad Mary Bridget got hers. It was a good books and I was glad that it had a satisfying ending.

Street Boys- Lorenzo Carcaterra Book Details: A gang of street urchins and an American soldier fight to liberate the city of Naples from the German army Naples, late September, 1943. The war in Europe is almost won. Italy is leaderless; Mussolini already arrested by anti-fascists. The city has been evacuated, but the German army is moving towards Naples to finish the job. Their chilling instructions are: if the city can't belong to Hitler, it will belong to no one. No one but the children. Orphaned or hidden by parents, abandoned or lost, some as young as ten years old, the children of Naples resist. Aided by a lone Allied soldier, cut off from his regiment, and armed with just a handful of guns, unexploded bombs and their own ingenuity, the street boys are determined to take on the advancing enemy and save the city - or die trying.

Street Boys had me rooting for the underdog. The ending was one you realized happened a lot during the war. During a war there is no real happy ending.

Lake Lights Up at Night- Article

What happens to lakes in an area hit by forest fires and floods? Some will glow in the dark.
For a cluster of lakes in Australia's eastern Victoria, the combination of the fire and then the rain washed ash and nitrogen-rich soil into the water. The Gippsland Lakes experienced a rise in sea level. That caused the lakes to mix with sea water, which also raised the salinity.
This recipe led to the introduction of a species of algae called Noctiluca scintillans, commonly known as "sea sparkle." The bioluminescent brew gave the water a nocturnal glow.

Bioluminescence -- when a living organism lights up at night -- is a natural phenomenon. Australian photographer Phil Hart caught the eerie light of the lakes and shared his snaps.
The shutterbug runs Night Sky Photography workshops in Australia, where he teaches the art of capturing images like these.
I saw this article and thought it was cool. I have heard about and seen pictures of these awesome Bioluminescent algae Noctiluca Scintillans. I have seen people swing among them too and it is cool. They don't hurt people it is an awesome natural phenomenon!

New Year 2011

The New Year is here. Hoping it's a good one for all. Here is my quote for the New Year: Life is too short for drama and petty things so kiss slowly, laugh insanely, love truly, and forgive quickly.
