DIY Super Simple Wedding Bouquet Holder!

So for my wedding July 19th, 2017 I wanted to make my own wedding bouquet holder so I started looking around online and I found how to make one quite ingeniously! I took a paper towel tube and I decided to keep the length because when handling it really isn’t that long but one can cut it down for a smaller holder if they like.

So I took the tube and I bought some thicker white ribbon as the sheer ribbon I had didn’t look right. In a spiral design I hot glued the white ribbon all the way down the tube and then took a piece of ribbon and glued it to the bottom hole of the tube. Then I took some pink mesh wrap ribbon, I bought blue as well but I came to like the pink better even though both colors fit the color scheme of the wedding, and I carefully hot glued that over the white ribbon. It took about two days to finish because I did it in spare time after work but it was so worth it. It turned out beautifully!! Now after I added the pink mesh wrap ribbon I added one blue dragon fly decoration to the side of the bouquet holder. Voila it was finished!

Now anyone can change the color of the base ribbon and mesh wrap ribbon and the decorations to fit their wedding color scheme and likes! The goal is to have fun with this super simple and fun creative item for your wedding!

Bear in mind the flowers themselves and the arrangement may alter the look or not fit the holder so see about that. I made my holder before my bouquet was made and Karen who made my bouquet fit it all together on the day and though a little heavy I just kept my hands in a certain way so the heavier bouquet didn’t fall out of the holder or crush it in anyway.

  • White Ribbon- $1.98 for 12 feet at Wal Mart

  • Pack of Blue Dragon Fly Decorations- $1 for pack of two dragon fly decorations at Dollar Tree

One Year Wedding Anniversary!

So July 19th 2018 Anthony and I celebrated our one year wedding anniversary and I have a lot to catch yall up on. I am sorry I haven’t been on here in a year, but it’s been a busy world wind year! So besides working a lot and doing every day chores and having a blast being married to my best friend we were also planning our first vacation together which we took in May of this year to Chattanooga Tennessee and I have to say it was a wonderful vacation / official honeymoon! I’ve been to Chattanooga before but Anthony hadn’t and he loved it. We did all the familiar sights such as Ruby Falls, Incline Railway, Rock City, Tennessee Aquarium and some others such as the zoo and then we drove to Atlanta Georgia one day and went through the Coca-Cola museum which was fun but the traffic stressed poor Anthony out.

So after the vacation was over we had the task of planning a one year wedding anniversary party because there were a lot who hadn’t been there for the wedding and we never had an official reception except 3 months into marriage we had a reception with just Anthony and I and he made a replica cake of our wedding cake, lol! So we planned or stressed over the anniversary party and changed the theme like 4 times before settling on a Japanese koi pond theme and it was beautifully executed! Ill put a few pics below! I made the half naked cake but I’m not sure it turned out so well but everything else was good!

Besides planning the anniversary party it was deciding what to make or get each other and so we decided on making gifts for each other. Anthony made me a stuffed toy as he knows I keep stuff toys since I was a kid because they all have memories and I can tell you when where and who gave it to me, lol, crazy but true. The stuffed toy was not just any stuffed toy but my favorite animal a sloth toy!!! We named the sloth Einstein but Stein for short, lol! Anthony sewed it all by hand and spent weeks making it! Besides that the week after our party he took me to a local zoo that has animal encounters and I got about a 30 minute encounter with 3 sloths which was incredible and such a sweet thing for Anthony to do for me!!! Also he made me a handmade card! Gushing!

So that left me with what to do. So we had just watched the movie UP and I got the idea about that Our Adventure photo album that Ellie had. So I looked it up and actually found replica ones online that look just like it so I bought the one from Amazon that has the book plus scissors, gel pens and photo corners in it and spent a month putting pictures in it and writing little things along the way and decorating with stickers etc. it was insane but I got it done and actually it said it would hold around 160 pictures I managed to get about 260 or so because I found a way to expand it, I bought brown card stock that was almost identical to the card stock in the book and cut and hole punched it to match and so I got to add additional pages! So the book showed from friendship all the way to the present! I even showed all the flowers Anthony gives me, one bouquet a month for 19 months now!

Also I bought Anthony his favorite anime movie music album from the movie “Your Name”! We also exchanged love coupons we made for each other!

I’m worn out just typing all that ha-ha!! It was so time consuming but way fun and worth it but next year its gonna be a simple me and him maybe one gift to each other anniversary, lol! So now after one year we are looking to be determining where to live now and if babies are gonna be soon or not so a lot of the unknown but it has been one heck of a year!
